Diana Siberio-Pérez, is an Associate Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at SUNY Empire State University. Since joining SUNY Empire in 2009, she has taught a wide range of courses in Mathematics, Physical Science and Chemistry, delivering instruction through various modalities, including online learning. She earned her Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of Michigan in the interdisciplinary Macromolecular Science and Engineering Program, and her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez. Her scholarly interests focus on the development of educational resources grounded in evidence-based approaches to online science instruction.

Diana’s passion for teaching stems from her desire to invest in the future of others by helping them achieve their academic goals and accomplish great things. This passion drives her to create engaging and supportive learning environments, connect meaningfully with students across all modalities, and continually seek ways to make a lasting, positive impact on their educational journeys. She embraces online teaching for the accessibility and opportunities it provides, allowing students from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances to pursue their studies and reach their full potential. While teaching remotely can sometimes make it challenging to see immediate results, she finds it deeply rewarding to witness her students grow, succeed, and gain confidence in their abilities. For her, every student’s achievement serves as a reminder that investing in others’ futures is one of the most meaningful contributions an educator can make.
