• SUNY Innovative Instruction Technology Grant (IITG) Program

IITG promotes research and fosters understanding of how new technologies support academic excellence and student success. IITG funds encourage SUNY faculty and staff to extend beyond departmental and campus boundaries to pilot, share and “scale up” innovations that transform and impact teaching and learning practices.

Past Projects

IITG has awarded over $5.5 million in funding to 252 projects since 2012.  You can search by amount of award, year of project, and SUNY campus. There are also eight instructional transformation categories and an open-ended search tool.

All SUNY faculty and staff are eligible to submit an IITG application. The Call for Proposals is typically released in December with a deadline in mid-February. Applicants are notified in mid-May and projects start in July and go through June of the following year.

Become a Reviewer

The best way to learn about IITG is to serve as a reviewer. Reviewers are assigned approximately 4-8 proposals each, with past reviewers reporting 4-8 hours spent reviewing and providing feedback.
