2026-27 Academic Innovation Grants – Get Information and Apply
Over $1 million in competitive funds will be available in the 2026–27 SUNY Academic Innovation Grants Programs, including the Innovative Instruction Technology Grants (IITG) and Open Educational Resources (OER) Impact Grants.
This year’s objectives emphasize harnessing AI, openness, and accessibility to advance affordable, innovative, and equitable education across SUNY. Projects may:
Use AI to enhance teaching and learning through affordable, open, and flexible instructional approaches.
Advance accessibility and equity by reducing barriers for diverse learners.
Foster collaboration and sustainability across SUNY through innovative instructional models.
The grants use a two-stage proposal process:
Stage 1: Ideation – A call for ideas and opportunities for faculty and staff to connect across campuses, fostering collaboration and more robust multi-campus proposals.
Stage 2: Full Proposals – Submission of complete project proposals, from which final awards will be made. (coming in January 2026)
