Amy E. Weaver MS, RN, CCRN-K is a Clinical Instructor for the College of Health Sciences at SUNY Poly. Amy holds an MS degree with a major in Nursing Education from SUNY Poly (2015), a BS degree with a major in Nursing from SUNY IT (2011), and an AAS degree in Nursing from MVCC (2005). She is currently a PhD in Nursing student at Wilkes University, with her research focusing on development and psychometric evaluation of a clinical practice tool to measure patient perceptions of nursing care. Amy has clinical experience in critical care, progressive care, PACU, med-surg, and telemetry. She has held various nursing positions including working as a travel nurse, charge nurse, preceptor, informatics super-user, and nurse clinician with teaching experience in staff education, BLS and ACLS instruction.

Amy has taught undergraduate nursing in both clinical and academic environments, in-person and online. Her teaching philosophy parallels professional practice values, emphasizing caring, empowerment, and a learner-centered approach that focuses on appropriate assessment and evaluation measures. She enjoys designing learning activities and creating a supportive environment which engages students and encourages real-world applications to the professional nursing role.
