Celebrating Diane Hamilton
The SUNY Online Community celebrates the life and contributions of our friend and colleague,
Diane Hamilton (1965-2022)
Diane Hamilton came to SUNY in 2012 as an intern for the SUNY Learning Network (SLN). In the Spring of 2013, she was hired as an Instructional Design Associate for Open SUNY, where she consulted with faculty on course design and instructional technologies.Diane contributed to the development of a variety of instructional resources and self-paced courses, delivered webinars and workshops for campuses across the SUNY system, and assisted on research projects and IITG proposal reviews.
After her time at SUNY System Administration, Diane moved on to the University at Albany where she served as an Instructional Developer for Faculty Technology Resources, and later an Instructional Designer for Online Teaching and Learning. In her role at the University at Albany, Diane supported faculty in the design and development of effective, high-quality online courses and programs. Her thoughtful and caring approach was founded in careful listening, collaboration, and intentionality in instructional planning.
Diane remained active in SUNY Online programs and initiatives as an exemplary member of the SUNY Online Teaching Community and DOODLE.
