Openly Licensed Tools and Resources
I would like to share with you all our openly licensed tools and resources that you can find here: https://online.suny.edu/onlineteaching/online-competency-development/self-paced-and-self-serve-training/
There are templates that can be uploaded into Blackboard, and cartridges that can be imported into any other LMS (moodle, brightspace and canvas). These “templates” can be adapted and you will see they are designed to address a variety of online teaching modalities (primarily synchronous online, primarily asynchronous online, blended/hybrid – f2f/online (synch. or asynch), and hyflex).
There are some self-paced materials that can also be adapted. The interested in teaching online? course is a very basic introduction to online teaching, and coupled with the online teaching readiness inventories provides a very good foundation for entry level online faculty. And, users can earn a badge by completing and showing evidence of their completion of all the activities. This can be used as is, incorporated into existing online faculty development activities, or completed individually as a self-paced activitiy, with the guidance of an instructional designer, or in facilitated training groups. The evidence of completion can be submitted as part of a faculty development activity, in combination with earning the self-paced badge, to confirm mastery and completion of this preliminary online faculty development activity.
The next step after that Introductory self-paced course would be the N2OL (new to online) course that could be adapted. I have provided downloadable Bb zip files and cartridges for that course in facilitated and self-paced models You can. import the course cartridge into Bb (or any other LMS) to see either version. There is a companion step by step handbook that goes with the N2OL courses that could also be adapted. This is an online companion resource to the handbook and N2OL: Online Course Design: Step by Step.
OSCQR, of course, is also part of the freely available and openly licensed online faculty development and course design ecosystem.
