23rd Annual NMC Summer Conference

Open SUNY Center for Online Teaching Excellence (COTE) is pleased to share the news that this year the New Media Consortium (NMC) annual Summer Conference will take place in Rochester, New York and hosted by the Rochester Institute of Technology MAGIC Center, June 14-16, 2016.

As long time members in this organization, we greatly value the NMC organization and community, and their efforts to drive innovation across various education sectors and landscapes. The NMC Horizon Reports are just one example of the research and analysis they provide to catalyze discussion, inform, and around which they build community. We encourage you not to miss this opportunity and hope you will take full advantage of attending an excellent national event that this year will take place in our own back yard.

The annual NMC Summer Conference is your opportunity to connect with thought leaders within the education industry who are pushing the envelope to infuse innovation and creativity into learning experiences worldwide. Gain tremendous insight on planning for, implementing, and evaluating cutting-edge technologies and learning approaches.

SPECIAL OPEN SUNY SESSION: To recognize our recently upgraded membership in this organization, NMC has graciously offered to host a one-hour special session at the summer conference for Open SUNY/NMC members only. This will be a Horizon Report higher education-focused meeting, where they will highlight the latest report, and facilitate a discussion around the topics. In addition, it will provide an opportunity for you to meet the NMC staff and to get more information on the benefits of membership. Anyone in SUNY is welcome to attend this closed session free of charge (max 48 people). A day pass to the conference on that day with a prorated discount cost is also available for anyone just wanting to come for the day for that meeting, or any day of the conference. The Open SUNY closed session at the summer conference will take place on Thursday, June 16th,  at 9am.
