Julianne Masocco, the latest addition to SUNY Niagara’s Childhood Education department, serves as a full-time instructor and Childhood Education Coordinator. Stepping into the role previously held by a longstanding member of the SUNY Niagara faculty, she swiftly gained the confidence of second-year students within the program. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Fredonia, Julianne brings a wealth of experience to her new position.

Having taught in various educational settings including public schools, charter schools, and community colleges, in addition to her position as a Head Start center director, Julianne’s background is rich with valuable insights. Prior to joining SUNY Niagara, she excelled as an elementary STEM teacher, where she guided students through experiments and instruction centered on the engineering design process, technology proficiency, and problem-solving skills.

Julianne’s dedication to her profession extends beyond traditional instruction, as she adeptly employs technology to enrich the learning environment. Impressively, she developed her inaugural online course in a remarkably short timeframe, which subsequently passed the SUNY Niagara Quality Review Project within months of its launch.

Grateful for the recognition bestowed upon her as an “exemplary online educator” by her peers, Julianne acknowledges the unwavering support and guidance she received throughout her academic and professional journey. Special gratitude is extended to fellow Ambassadors like Doug Reagan, Donna Simiele, and Robert Morris who provided invaluable assistance and advice during the course development process.

With a hands-on approach to various software programs and tools, Julianne remains committed to exploring and integrating emerging technologies that foster greater engagement and enhance the educational experience for her students.
