SUNY Online Teaching Ambassador 2024: Buffalo – Charles Lindsey
Charles (Chuck) Lindsey is Associate Professor of Marketing and currently serves as Faculty Director of the working professional MBA Programs in the School of Management at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. He has also served as a Visiting Associate Professor of Marketing at the Johnson School of Management, Cornell University.
Professor Lindsey started his career in Accounting with Harrisons and Crosfield (formerly Division of Pfizer). He subsequently transitioned to Marketing and Management related roles within industry, working for Fortune 500 and other large firms. He has been quoted in national news outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, NY Times, Washington Post, USA Today, CNN, Associated Press, Forbes, Bloomberg, NPR Marketplace, ESPN, and E-Commerce Times and has contributed articles to Fortune Magazine and numerous academic business periodicals. He regularly consults for and engages in corporate training with firms of all sizes.
He enjoys teaching both in-person as well as online courses and has taught both Statistical Analytics and Marketing Management online. His favorite pedagogical format for online courses is to utilize stair-step topical “circuits,” featuring original content videos/readings, a 5-minute “pulse” quiz, and an application activity. As Faculty Director of UB’s working professional MBA programs since 2017, Professor Lindsey helped convert the Professional MBA to a hybrid delivery format (teaching the inaugural hybrid course). More recently, he helped launch UB’s first fully online MBA program (teaching the inaugural course in that program as well).
