Rebecca M. Kissling, Ph.D. has been an instructor in Organic Chemistry at Binghamton University since 2003.  She currently teaches sophomore level organic courses and commits her free time to advising and fostering careers of science major undergraduates.  Dr. Kissling earned her BS in Geology in 1984 from Binghamton University and worked as a geologist for over a decade, then returned to school and earned her PhD in Chemistry from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2001 in organocatalysis. Her post-doctoral work at University of New Orleans focused on organometallic catalysis.

I had been teaching organic chemistry courses online during summers for a couple of years prior to the mandate switch to distance learning.  My husband recently made a mini light board studio for me so that I can create short demonstration videos linked to problem solving and reflective exercises.  On the home front, I share parenting of dogs and cats with my partner Steven and spend time hiking, running, cycling, needle crafts, gardening and digital image capture.
