Open SUNY Online Teaching Ambassador 2019: Polytechnic – Ryan Lizardi

Ryan Lizardi is an Assistant Professor of Digital Humanities and Communication at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, and has been teaching online content since 2010 at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Mr. Lizardi attempts to create online learning environments that are consistent, engaging, accessible, and creative in their approach to student content ownership. Over the past few years, he has also been drawn to the idea of bringing the best elements of accessible online engagement to his face-to-face courses converting them into what he believes is an effective and hybridized classroom environment. His goals are to provide a space for every student’s voice, while also providing encouragement for deep course material engagement.
