Open SUNY Online Teaching Ambassador 2017 – Clinton: Mike Zerrahn

Mike Zerrahn is an associate professor in business/accounting and chair of business/accounting department at Clinton Community College.

Our business department offers three degrees that can be obtained completely online. In the six years I have been at Clinton I have developed and taught 4 courses online. I have been offering 1 or 2 courses online, and our department 5 – 7 courses online, each semester. For Spring ’17 semester I will be following the lead of another professor at Clinton, who is a 2016 Online Teaching Ambassador, by offering a course in a Flex format. A student can take the course completely online, completely live on campus, or any combination that works best for them. Teaching online has given me a deeper understanding of how best to present and organize material for my courses which in turn has improved my live classes.
