Chris Ford is a professor in the department of technology at Clinton Community College, with a B.S. and an M.B.A. from SUNY at Binghamton.
I developed the Computer Information Systems program for Clinton Community College in 2001. Shortly after that I started teaching online. Over the years I have developed and taught 5 different online courses. I usually teach 2 or 3 of these courses each semester. We plan to put the entire CIS program online within the next year. This semester I am piloting a new model called Online/Flex where a student can take the course completely online, completely live or any combination of live and online that works for them. I think teaching online has made my live classes better because I tend to look at the course more holistically and get everything ready to go before the semester starts.
