SUNY Online Teaching Ambassador 2024: Buffalo – Carrie Hoefer
Carrie Hoefer, PhD has have a deep passion for developing new programs at academic institutions. After her Ph.D in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Buffalo (UB) she joined two prestigious Pharmacy Schools where she has launched online programs in Pharmacogenomics and also in Drug Development, which were the first of its kind. Carrie also has earned her MBA online from Kelley Direct at Indiana University. When her alma mater called and asked if she wanted to come back and begin launching online programs in the school of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Buffalo, she could not pass up the opportunity, and is set to launch the first online program in the School of Pharmacy at UB starting in Fall of 2024.
Carrie specialized not only in curriculum development, but her MBA also has allowed her to excel in online education research, marketing, and recruiting. Additionally, Carrie has taken several continuing education courses in adult learning and curriculum design allowing her to focus on creating profitable programs to not only advance the opportunities at academic institutions, but also to guide students in finding the next “it” job for them.
