Michael Hall is an Associate Professor of Psychology and also serves as Department Chair of Behavioral Sciences and Program Chair of the Liberal Arts – Teaching program.  He has an MA in Psychology from the University of Nebraska and taught for 6 years at Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) in Council Bluffs, IA before coming to SUNY Dutchess (DCC) where he is currently is in his 13th year.

While at IWCC he began teaching a wide range of courses online in 2002 as distance learning was a key part of the curriculum at a rural community college.  Since coming to DCC in 2017, he has continued teaching online and has developed six different courses in psychology.  He also has collaborated in the transitions from Lotus Notes to Angel LMS and then from Angel to Blackboard as he had experience teaching in each of those environments.

A strong proponent of online teaching, he encourages members of his department to expand online opportunities which has led to the development of a diverse array of course availabilities across Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, and Criminal Justice.
