Events
I am often asked for recommendations of events or conferences to attend that would be of interest to online learning practitioners. Last year I posted about events we attend: https://online.suny.edu/onlineteaching/2014/01/17/events-we-attend/
I was recently asked for a list of events I would recommend in New York State.
CDETG is a group based in Albany, NY that is for those working with/or interested in instructional technology fields in higher education.

You should join their listserv.
This year NMC will be in Rochester, NY. That is a GREAT conference. http://www.nmc.org/events/2016-nmc-summer-conference/
The Open SUNY Summit is open to SUNY and non SUNY staff and faculty. It is a great conference and welcomes “Friends of SUNY” and SUNY online practitioners who play various roles in online teaching and learning formally at the conference and with a badge. You should join!

The COIL conference is great – for those interested in online international collaboration. http://coil.suny.edu/node/232
NERCOMP is another event I like that offers PD near by Massachusetts, Rhode Island, etc. http://nercomp.org/index.php?section=events
