Jeanneth Sangurima-Quiles

Jeanneth Sangurima-Quiles is an Adjunct Lecturer at Suffolk County Community College. Jeanneth is a first generation Indigenous-Hispanic woman and a cum-laude graduate of Queens College of the City University of New York with a Bachelor and Master’s degrees, presently pursuing an EdD in Administration and Supervision at St. John’s University. She has taught at Queens College, New York University, Briarcliffe College and Adelphi University.

I’m very comfortable teaching in all modalities, face to face, hybrid and online. Currently I’m enjoying creating and developing Spanish courses for both institutions where I’m an Adjunct Lecturer. I have been teaching almost twenty years from elementary to college and my niche is higher education. I started teaching fully online in 2007 for CUNY- School of Professional Studies and most recently I created and developed courses with the concept of Zero Textbooks Cost that benefit the diverse CUNY student population. At Suffolk County Community College, I teach face to face, hybrid and now online. It’s been a few years since I created, developed, and teach two new Spanish courses for SCCC. Due to the pandemic in our nation at both institutions, I had the pleasure of being an online facilitator to fellow CUNY and SCCC colleagues with some or no online experience.

I’m a staunch believer that all educational members regardless if they are students or faculty should be offered various methods of learning and teaching in the quest that benefits society. Online has demonstrated its worth over the years within the academic environment alongside the “traditional classroom” and especially during our current global pandemic.
