SUNY Online Teaching Ambassador 2021: Monroe – Rebecca Horwitz

Rebecca Horwitz is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Psychology Department at Monroe Community College. She is originally from the Rochester area. Rebecca earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Johns Hopkins University and did her graduate work at the University of South Carolina.

In addition to being the chairperson of the department, she teaches PSY 101: Introductory Psychology, PSY 108: Fundamentals of APA Style, and PSY 205: Social Psychology.

Rebecca has been instrumental in the coordination and success of the SUNY Online Psychology pilot program. She has taught Psychology online for many years, including developing MCC’s first online PSY-101 course. Rebecca is always willing to step up and try something new, whether it is new technology, offering new opportunities to her students, or finding new ways to support her faculty.
