Erin Elizabeth Cody has been teaching undergraduate coursework online for Binghamton University’s Career Development Centralized Internship Program (CDCI) since 2011. She developed and earned approval from the University’s Undergraduate Curriculum Committee to create CDCI 200, Bridging Academics to Careers: Exploring Opportunities in a Global Society a two credit course in collaboration with colleagues’ input. This course is a career exploration and decision-making theory course that has grown to include a networking event and visits to workplaces in New York City along with completion of career assessments and content that engages students in the development of writing skills.

Erin participated in Binghamton’s Teaching Online Certification Program led by the Binghamton Center for Learning and Teaching and made enhancements to the course for accessibility and educational community building via Blackboard. In addition Ms. Cody has taught CDCI 395: Professional Internship Seminar online as well. She worked to develop online discussions among interns from diverse internship sites and to help them navigate professional expectations during their internship semester while they completed the curricular expectations in the course.

In 2013-14 Erin served as the Binghamton Campus Coordinator for the JFEW/SUNY International Relations and Global Affairs Academic Internship Program. In this online learning program, Erin collaborated with colleagues at Stony Brook University and SUNY Global Center to engage select scholars in an educational program taught via real time video conference that prepares them for internships in New York City impacting international relations at such sites as: US Department of State, Clinton Global Initiative and the 92nd Street Y to name a few.

Erin is the Senior Assistant Director, Enhancing Student Experience at Binghamton University’s Fleishman Center for Career and Professional Development where she utilizes online teaching tools to provide ongoing training and development for their undergraduate, graduate and professional staff throughout the academic year. Erin has a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Professional Counseling and her MS in Community Counseling from The University of Scranton in Pennsylvania and her BM in Music in Music Education from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA. Erin is a Nationally Certified Counselor and Master Career Counselor.
