I initially began teaching online at SUNY Upstate in 2021. The majority of my students are working Registered Nurses who wish to become Nurse Practitioners. The COVID-19 Pandemic has significantly stressed their ability to balance work, life, and school commitments. Online learning provides students with the opportunity to continue their education while still being able to fight the ongoing pandemic and devote time to their families and communities. I truly enjoy designing accessible online courses that enhance human connections. Now more than ever, students are looking for faculty to provide support and affirmation. I believe that well-designed online learning can bring students and faculty together during this crisis and spark the innovations needed to overcome the challenges of the evolving healthcare landscape. I hope to continue to grow as an educator through the support of my colleagues at SUNY.
