Open SUNY Online Teaching Ambassador 2020: Stony Brook – Carol Della Ratta

Carol Della Ratta, RN, Ph.D. is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Strategic Partnerships in the School of Nursing, Stony Brook University. She has many years of experience teaching face-to-face and online in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Carol’s most recent efforts focus on active learning strategies such as on-site and distance team-based learning. She has published on the implementation of Team-based Learning in an online nursing research course and has presented on A Faculty Learning Community to Manage Online Classroom Controversy. She values research evidence on best teaching practices and faculty discussions to share ideas in furthering student engagement and learning in the online environment.
