What We Do

SUNY Online Teaching advances high-quality, inclusive, and research-informed online teaching and learning across the SUNY system through coordinated programs, services, and initiatives. Our work supports faculty, instructional designers, and campus leaders by building capacity, strengthening practice, and sustaining communities of expertise.

We focus on people, pedagogy, and practice—designing supports that are scalable, adaptable, and grounded in decades of system-wide experience.

How We Work

Our work is organized across four interconnected areas:

  • Programs & Initiatives that cultivate professional learning and community including professional learning pathways, roles, and communities of practice.
  • Projects that focus on system-wide initiatives advancing online course quality, inclusive teaching, and innovation.
  • Services that support campuses through consultation, resources, and collaboration. (See our Service Level Agreement)
  • System partnerships that align campus and SUNY-wide efforts.

Together, these efforts support continuous improvement in online teaching and learning across SUNY.
