Project Summary:

Pilot use of VIVO open-source, semantic web based software to provide an e-portfolio service for SUNY students including tracking of scholarly works, publications, research, awards, projects and detailed specialties of interest it serves as a springboard for open access scholarly communication.

Project Outcome:

A pilot website and final report describe the potential for VIVO as an e-Portfolio solution, which was ultimately not adopted.

Project Summary:

Pilot exploration of e-textbook adoption to assess the impact of price on e-textbook adoption and investigating the feasibility of a student-centered e-textbook model.

Project Outcome:

443 student pilot over 6 courses and 3 LMS indicated that e-Textbooks from publishers held promise but lacked flexibility and accessibility. 63% of students accessed via laptops, 16% on desktops, 11% during test phase on mobile devices.

    Observations of Students in Clinical Settings via iPads

    Project Summary:

    Use of iPads to observe real time patient encounters and feedback to participating students in multiple health professions. Written feedback documented outcomes in a web-based database.

    Project Outcome:

    Faculty cohort (n=16) in health professions (Nursing, PT, Pediatrics) report FaceTime can be effective for use in Grand Rounds. Report includes issues regarding secure network connectivity within hospital environments to ensure HIPPA compliance.

    iTutor and iDemo: 3D Computer Vision/Graphics with Intelligent Avatar Interaction
