Integrating AI into Geospatial Information Science and Technology (GIST) curriculums to enhance teaching on climate change, sustainability and human rights issues.

A cross-disciplinary learning community aiming to equip community college faculty and staff with high degree of student-facing responsibilities with AI literacy, AI use skill competencies, and the ability to train others in new technological tools in ethical, responsible, and empowering ways.

The AI-Assisted Learning: Bridging Disciplines, Promoting Equity, and Pioneering Pedagogical Innovations initiative aims to leverage AI in various disciplines to improve learning outcomes, enhance educational equity, support individual learning paces, and explore new pedagogical approaches, bridging academic fields from Math to Business to Humanities.

This project leverages the $200 million investment in AI by U Albany to create a multi-institutional professional learning community to help educators across various sectors gain new knowledge, skills and abilities around artificial intelligence in design, teaching, learning, and assessment; providing a foundation for new models of educator learning in the age of AI, positioning SUNY to attract major external funding for a robust state-wide AI research and education network.

By offering opportunities for pedagogy training and collaboration, Teaching with AI: A Cross-Campus Community of Practice will support faculty who want to incorporate AI into their syllabi and assignments, with the goal of sharing research-based course materials across SUNY and extending training via SUNY CPD.
