Project Abstract:
Critical MT praxis demonstrates that raw machine translation is not neutral; Baker Shift analysis revealed structural and terminological changes that can flatten emotion, alter meaning, and erase culturally specific language. These findings advance DEI and linguistic justice by emphasizing human-centered review and glossary informed MT that preserves the voices, identities, and cultural knowledge of multilingual communities.
