Project Abstract:
This research successfully developed and validated a web-based educational chatbot designed to enhance the learning experience in geotechnical engineering courses. The implementation of a simplified Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approach, alongside meticulous prompt engineering, proved crucial in ensuring the chatbot's fidelity to the provided documents and mitigating issues of AI hallucination, thereby maintaining academic integrity. The preliminary validation demonstrated the chatbot's capability to answer complex, domain-specific questions on topics such as deep foundations and dewatering, directly supporting students in understanding the practical implications of their designs.
Project Outcome:
