Project Abstract:

Accreditation guidelines require that all nurse practitioner programs in the US have three core courses: Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Physical (Health) Assessment. NP students then take a comprehensive clinical readiness exam covering these topics, which they must pass before beginning clinical rotations. This project will develop an NP-authored, AI-assisted OER resource that could be shared freely across graduate nursing programs in the SUNY system and beyond. The text will enhance critical thinking and improve clinical diagnostic reasoning preparation for future nurse clinicians and leaders. This project meets the IITG program objectives, including utilizing new technology like AI to support academic excellence and student success.
