In this project we aim to develop a set of laboratory modules that incorporate AI-tools to help students design, build, test and optimize functional electrical circuits and systems. By using AI-tools, students can simulate real-world conditions of circuits by exploring various scenarios to obtain an optimal output. Each lab offers a conceptual review of circuit design, a guide to implement those designs using a computer-based device that simulates lab-equipment, and an interactive interface between the results and the AI-toolbox. These modules enhance the learning objective of understanding all-stages of a system and providing an interpretation of the results. The modules, including the experiment, the laboratory manual, and the algorithm for the AI-tool will be shared as an OER CC BY-NC-SA in the SUNY Learning Commons. This learning model contributes to student success and upward mobility, as well as research and education in the growing field of educational applications of AI.
