Summary

The conversations we hear around Open Education are often focused on open content, referring to digital resources that have been shared online with a license that both permits and encourages re-use and sharing within the limits of the specifications of the license. Open Pedagogy, on the other hand, describes the experiences of learners who engage with the course content.

From a teaching perspective, Open Pedagogy is designing lessons and assessments that encourage students to improve or create course content. Open Pedagogy employs activities and support around the creation, use and repurposing of Open Educational Resources with the aim to improve the educational experience through meaningful student engagement and innovative educational environments.
