SUNY OER Training Course Experience

These SUNY OER Training Courses will introduce you to the fundamental principles and effective practices related to Open Educational Resources. Throughout this learning space, you will have the opportunity to explore and discuss methods and approaches to finding, adopting, customizing, integrating, creating, publishing, and licensing OER. You will also have opportunities to connect in conversation with your peers, and work with OER advocates from the SUNY community who can help you along your learning journey.

Discover Your Learning Pathway

There are four learning pathways options to choose from on this OER journey.

The Pathway to Discovery IconThe Pathway to Discovery: If you choose to follow this approach, you will be exploring the courses and associated resources on your own. There’s no set pathway that you need to follow, and no milestones to reach. Just an open learning landscape for you to explore.

Mapped Out Journey IconThe Mapped Out Journey: Each course in this OER Community Course space has an established flow of things to do, and ways to connect and communicate. You will need to participate in conversations, complete knowledge checks, write short reflections, and submit evidence of learning exercises to earn course badges.

SUNY Community Course Cohort IconSUNY OER Community Learning Cohort: SUNY cohorts are facilitated by a SUNY OER advocate/Study Group leader. You will need to participate in conversations, complete knowledge checks, write short reflections, and submit evidence of learning exercises to earn course badges.

Bespoke Cohort IconThe Bespoke Group Cohort: All course content is openly licensed under a Creative Commons CC BY license, and available in Pressbooks for integration into an LMS. Please contact SUNY OER Services for more information on running a Bespoke Group Cohort.
