Developing Latin American OERs
Empire State College
While working with OERs, I have developed a method of implementation called the DAURAS approach (i.e. whenever using OERs, you shoul always follow this order of creation to implementation--Develop, Apply, Use, Re-Use, Assess, Share or DAURAS). I have presented this approach in the COTE series and have written an article and two COTE NOTES about how to effectively implement OERs into classroom assignments. I have included a link to the article here and include the COTE link above:

I would suggest implementing the DAURAS approach that I created and wrote about in the COTE NOTE: Part 2 (i.e. whenever using OERs, you should always follow this order of creation to implementation--Develop, Apply, Use, Re-Use, Assess, Share
Also, always ask for help from others in the field!
My practices have worked out very well. Faculty at my college regularly come to me to ask suggestions about ways to develop OERs. This term I have been working with a few colleagues in a course where I have taught faculty to create short screencasts in ScreenCastomatic to teach their lesson. I have included an example here from my lecture on Powerlessness and Empowerment:

Some of my other practices are included in my two COTE chat write ups (i.e. COTE NOTES). Please see information here: http://cotecommunity.open.suny.edu/group/oermethods-examples
