Data and Reporting

SOSSI generates two distinct outputs designed for two distinct audiences. Students receive a report written in affirmative, constructive language designed to be actionable without being alarming. Campus advisors, coaches, and support staff receive structured data organized by construct and scored to support triage and outreach decisions. What follows describes how each output is delivered and accessed.

SUNY System Dashboard

The SUNY System Dashboard provides aggregate, system-wide data for use by SUNY administration. Individual campus administrators can access this dashboard to compare their institution’s results against system-wide patterns. This may be useful for identifying trends, informing resource allocation, and situating your campus within the broader SUNY context.

The dashboard does not contain individually identifiable student data. It is a macro-level view only.

Additional documentation on the SUNY System Dashboard will be available here as the tool develops.

Institutional Data File

Campus-level student data is delivered through periodically generated Institutional Data Files. Each file is date-stamped and accessible only to the designated administrator for your institution, using their SUNY Federated login credentials. Administrators can download files containing individual student responses and construct scores for use in your campus advising or early alert system.

Files are retained for six months and then removed. Download and store your data files promptly.

Additional documentation on the Institutional Data File format and field definitions will be available here as the tool develops.

Student Email Report

When a student completes the SOSSI inventory, they automatically receive an email report that includes their scores for each construct presented in accessible, student-friendly language, along with the campus-specific resources your institution identified during configuration. The report is designed to highlight strengths alongside areas for growth.

If your campus opted into campus email notifications during configuration, an identical copy of the student report is sent simultaneously to your designated campus contact. Software such as Microsoft PowerAutomate can be used to redirect that email to an appropriate contact if needed for scale.

Additional documentation will be available as the tool develops.
