“The goal of Green Chemistry is to develop processes and products that reduce environmentally hazardous substances. Green Chemistry processes and products must meet ‘green chemistry’ requirements in their design, manufacture and use. Some of these requirements include the use of environmentally benign solvents, minimization of energy use, and maximization of non-toxic raw materials with minimization of waste compounds. To date, many products and processes have been recognized as meeting Green Chemistry requirements. More information on these can be obtained from the Environmental Protection Agency.”
