BYOC: Build Your Online Course

Fredonia, State University College at

Description:

BYOC (Build Your Online Course) is an 8-week fully online course completed by all new online faculty. Initiated in Fall 2012, it is co-taught by Fredonia’s Coordinator of Online Learning, with an experienced online faculty member. Modules assist faculty in building critical components of their proposed online courses. Upon completion, faculty members submit full course materials for review and feedback, using Fredonia’s campus Online Course Review process. BYOC has had major impacts on the completion of requirements to teach online, as well as the quality of newly offered courses. It has established a workable infrastructure, with limited resources. Faculty feedback has been highly positive.
