{"id":2882,"date":"2025-01-08T05:19:35","date_gmt":"2025-01-08T10:19:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/online.suny.edu\/summit\/?p=2882"},"modified":"2025-01-28T17:11:12","modified_gmt":"2025-01-28T22:11:12","slug":"kathe-pelletier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/online.suny.edu\/summit\/kathe-pelletier\/","title":{"rendered":"Kathe Pelletier: CHLOE 9 Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/online.suny.edu\/summit\/tag\/day-3\/\">DAY 3<\/a> :<\/strong>\u00a0February 28, 2025<br \/>\n<strong>Time 9:15AM \u2013 10:15AM<\/strong><\/h5>\n<h3>The Changing Landscape of Online Education (CHLOE) Report<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The ninth installment of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qualitymatters.org\/qa-resources\/resource-center\/articles-resources\/CHLOE-project\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Changing Landscape of Online Education (CHLOE) report<\/a>, produced by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qualitymatters.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Quality Matters<\/a>\u2122<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.encoura.org\/eduventures-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Eduventures<\/a><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.educause.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Educause<\/a><sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2014 offers an overview of the current state of online learning in higher education as well as insights into its future development. The report was compiled by surveying senior online leaders on vital topics facing institutions today, from supporting faculty, staff, and students with quality online learning to aligning institutional strategy with today\u2019s increased demand for online options. \u2014 at U.S. two- and four-year colleges and universities. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Changing Landscape of Online Education (CHLOE) Project The CHLOE 9 Survey conducted in 2024 continues the discussion of how online learning is managed and strategically integrated into institutional plans, and provides data and insights related to TPSs and OPMs, institutional priorities for online growth, online pricing and cost models, and AI use and policies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The majority of survey participants report both learner demand for online learning surging and institutional strategic priorities shifting to meet this demand, as well as the adaptation to the new presence of AI tools in the academic environment. Notable findings from the 53-page report include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Priorities for Online Learning<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tuition and Institutional Revenue<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">AI in Higher Education<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Third-Party Servicers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Regular and Substantive Interaction<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h6><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This session will:<\/span><\/h6>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Explain the role of online learning in institutional strategy, including prioritization efforts to grow enrollment and integration with TPSs and OPMs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Discuss how priorities for online learning growth differ by type of institution.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Describe how institutions are incorporating AI into the classroom and the need for, discussions about, and status of AI policies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Identify pricing strategies and resource contributions for online initiatives.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Thread additional insights from EDUCAUSE through the CHLOE findings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><a
