Last year I posted about events we attend: <a href=\"https:\/\/online.suny.edu\/onlineteaching\/2014\/01\/17\/events-we-attend\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/online.suny.edu\/onlineteaching\/2014\/01\/17\/events-we-attend\/ <\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was recently asked for a list of events I would recommend in New York State.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>CDETG is a group based in Albany, NY that is for those working with\/or interested in instructional technology fields in higher education.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/cdetg.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/cdetg.wordpress.com\/<\/a><br \/>\nYou should <a href=\"https:\/\/cdetg.wordpress.com\/join-cdetg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">join their listserv.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This year <a href=\"http:\/\/nmc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NMC<\/a> will be in Rochester, NY. That is a GREAT conference. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmc.org\/events\/2016-nmc-summer-conference\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.nmc.org\/events\/2016-nmc-summer-conference\/ <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Open SUNY Summit is open to SUNY and non SUNY staff and faculty. It is a great conference and welcomes \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/online.suny.edu\/onlineteaching\/open-suny-fellow-application\/?roles=Friend\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Friends of SUNY<\/a>\u201d and <a href=\"http:\/\/online.suny.edu\/onlineteaching\/fellowship-expectations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SUNY online practitioners<\/a> who play various roles in online teaching and learning formally at the conference and with a badge. <strong>You should join!<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/opensunycotesummit2015.edublogs.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/opensunycotesummit2015.edublogs.org\/ <\/a>&#8211; link to last years event. All the sessions are recorded and streamed. You can see them under the <em><strong>live<\/strong><\/em> link.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/coil.suny.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">COIL<\/a> conference is great \u2013 for those interested in online international collaboration. <a href=\"http:\/\/coil.suny.edu\/node\/232\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/coil.suny.edu\/node\/232 <\/a><\/p>\n<p>NERCOMP is another event I like that offers PD near by Massachusetts, Rhode Island, etc.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/nercomp.org\/index.php?section=events\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/nercomp.org\/index.php?section=events <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am often asked for recommendations of events or conferences to attend that would be of interest to online learning practitioners.
