Expert online instructional designers (IDs) are the historical core of our online community of practice<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Online IDs have significant roles and opportunities to contribute in the SUNY Online Community of Practice. Professionalization of the role, ongoing professional development\/certifications, mentoring,\u00a0 volunteering to review online courses\/provide support, mentoring others, and sharing expertise, resources, tools in various ways are recognized and valued in our community of online practitioners. For example:<\/p>\n

  1. Teach Online!<\/li>\n
  2. Join the Online Course Quality Reviewer Network<\/a> to volunteer to review online courses.<\/li>\n
  3. Earn OSCQR Reviewer\/OSCQR Trainer Certification<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  4. Complete the OLC Online ID Certificate Program<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  5. Become an Online Teaching Fellow in the Expert ID role.<\/a><\/li>\n
  6. Join\u00a0the SUNY Online Teaching Networking Community<\/a>\u00a0<\/label>of online practitioners\u00a0
  7. SUNY Online Teaching Viva Engage Group<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 for SUNY Only.<\/em><\/label><\/li>\n
  8. Become an Online Coach\/Mentor Volunteer<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  9. Get certified to train on our behalf with the SUNY Online PD Associates Program<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  10. Volunteer<\/a> to be part of periodic ad hoc SUNY Online work groups, committees, or teams.<\/li>\n
  11. Nominate or Submit a proposal to lead a Fellow Chat<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  12. Nominate or Submit an online effective practice<\/a> for an award recognition.<\/li>\n
  13. Nominate an Online Teaching Ambassador<\/a> from your campus.<\/li>\n
  14. Nominate an Online Course for Observation<\/a> from your campus.<\/li>\n
