This role is automatically approved.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cExperienced\u201d means you have experience in instructional design and\/or in supporting online teaching faculty and would like to be involved in supporting others by engaging in professional development activities. This role is automatically approved.<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Expert Instructional Designer,&#8221; &#8220;Exemplar, Coach and Mentor,&#8221; and &#8220;Innovator\/Researcher&#8221; roles are all reviewed by the SUNY Online Teaching Community team for alignment of experience and background to each role before approval is sent.<\/li>\n<li>You will receive notification when you have been approved as a SUNY Online Teaching Fellow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"left\"><strong>Step 2)<\/strong>\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onlineteaching.open.suny.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Participate in the SUNY Online Networking Community<\/a> (open to anyone) or the <a href=\"https:\/\/sunyedu.workplace.com\/groups\/SUNYOnlineTeaching\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SUNY Online Workplace group<\/a> (for SUNY only). <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You are\u00a0asked to create a profile for yourself when your request to join is accepted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After signing up for the SUNY Online Community, you can join the SUNY Online Community Call group, which is for instructional designers and other online practitioners from across SUNY:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Link to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onlineteaching.open.suny.edu\/group\/cote-community-call\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">SUNY Online Community Call page<\/a>;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>click the <strong>+Join<\/strong> button to join the group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>As part of the Community Call Group, you can:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>create new Discussion forums;<\/li>\n<li>share documents and links;<\/li>\n<li>use the Comments wall.<\/li>\n<li>You can also configure your options for receiving e-mail or RSS feed from your Groups in your profile: choose <strong>My Page, Settings, Email.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>As part of of the overall SUNY Online Community<\/strong>, you can also request to add a new group by going to the <a href=\"https:\/\/onlineteaching.open.suny.edu\/groups\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Group page<\/a> and clicking the <strong>Add<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Step 3)<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Sharing Best Practices<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can share best practice documents and other files as attachments to discussion posts and comment in the COTE Community Call Group.<\/li>\n<li>In this group, there is also a page <strong>Librarian Community of Practice<\/strong>. The administrator for this page is Laura K.
