After almost 40 years in the profession and over 35 in education, David has always been dedicated to training the next generation of healthcare providers, ensuring they are equipped with both the theoretical knowledge and practical expertise needed for success.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">David is a proud graduate of the HVCC Respiratory Care Program. He also holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Respiratory Care from the University of Missouri and a Master\u2019s degree in Educational Technology from Boise State University. As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS), David tries to bring extensive clinical experience into the classroom, fostering a hands-on learning environment that prepares my students for real-world challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the online arena I have recognized both the recent opportunities and challenges that AI presents, particularly in the areas of student engagement and academic integrity. Being from a healthcare background I worry that student overreliance on the ease AI offers may diminish their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. To address this, I have been open to any innovative teaching strategies and course redesign that encourage more first-person narrative and reflective analysis. My colleagues and I frequently rework our online course to best improve the next generation of college students and healthcare providers to navigate these exploding changes in learning.\u00a0 It is essential that we embrace new technology while still helping students to develop the essential analytical and decision-making skills they need to thrive in forward-facing healthcare roles.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>David TenEyck is the Associate Director of the Cardiorespiratory Programs at Hudson Valley Community College.
