Review Criteria

Review Criteria for Papers:

  1. The manuscript must respect / follow the instructions provided by the paper template, in the conference webpage. The author must indicate the type of contribution: research paper or best practice paper- only the research paper will be peer reviewed. If not, the reviewers can make the recommendation for a revision.
  2. The reviewers are advised to provide clear and objective comments/ suggestions regarding each section of the manuscript.
  3. The manuscript must address the following points in order to comply to the IACEE quality standard:
    1. For research papers: there must be an identification of research questions/ problems, goals and hypothesis/ assumptions.
      For best practice papers: there must be a motivation/ triggers to change and implement new models and practices.
      For work in progress paper: there must be hypothesis and or research question or … new ideas
    2. For research papers: there must be a description of the research methodology, namely methods and instruments.
      For best practice papers: there must be a description of the case (e.g. curriculum model) and how it is practiced.
      For work in progress paper: there must be an exploitation of the methods applied
    3. For research papers: there must be a description of the data collection and analysis (if empirical paper)
      For best practice papers: there must be a discussion of model implemented/ practiced its challenges, lessons learned and futures perspectives.
      For work in progress paper: there must be a description of the data analysis and relevant theory
    4. Results, discussion and/ or conclusions should contain a critical reflection on the study
    5. References (comply with style provided in template, relevance)
    6. OPTIONAL: In support of the IACEE Porto Declaration, if the proposed best research supports one of the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) found at https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/, the abstract should identify the specific SDG and address how the best practice supports the SDG.

Review Criteria for Presentations/Panels/Posters/Discussion Groups:

  1. The abstract must provide a clear understanding of the issue or topic and represent a current best practice or provide a forum for identifying a best practice as it relates to the conference theme and one or more of the tracks/topics.
  2. The abstract must address the following points in order to comply to the IACEE quality standard:
    1. There must be a motivation/ triggers to change and implement new models and practices.
    2. There must be a description of the case (e.g. curriculum model) and how it is practiced, including the motivation toward the best practice and the relationship between the action taken and the results produced by the best practice.
    3. There must be a discussion of model implemented/ practiced its challenges, lessons learned and futures perspectives.
    4. Results, discussion and/ or conclusions should contain a critical reflection on the study with references where appropriate
    5. OPTIONAL: In support of the IACEE Porto Declaration, if the proposed best practice supports one of the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) found at https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/, the abstract should identify the specific SDG and address how the best practice supports the SDG.
